Tuna Paksiw sa Gata is made of tender and moist Tuna that is gently cooked in white vinegar and coconut milk (or gata in Filipino). This dish is quick and easy to make and is ready to eat within 15-20 minutes.

Servings 2 people

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg Tuna fish, cut into 4 slices
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 1 Garlic, chopped
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Pepper Corn
  • 5 pcs bay leaves
  • 2 pcs Green chili
  • 1/2 cut ginger
  • 2 cups coconut milk (gata)

Instructions:

  1. Put garlic, onion, ginger, green chili, bay leaves, pepper, and fish into a shallow dish
  2. Add water, white vinegar and soy sauce
  3. Put into boil for 15 minutes
  4. Add vegetable oil and coconut milk
  5. Boil until sauce becomes sticky
  6. Serve hot with steam rice
